Photographer: Yulia Grigoryants

Starting from $250.00

Open Call: In Isolation

The same room serves as a bedroom and an office for the laboratory assistants at the Aragats Cosmic Ray Research Station on the slopes of Armenia’s Mount Aragats. The Station was the largest center of physics devoted to the study of cosmic rays during the soviet time. Today there are only three employees at the station, studying high-energy particles thrown from exploding stars, black holes and other astrophysical calamities. Isolation and solitude is what these two scientists and their cook experience in a place that once, employed over 100 scientists.
